Bhopal, Thursday 15th December 2011

Dissent is brewing amongst the forest officials, after an FIR was registered against Bandhavgarh National Park field director on a complaint by the followers of Kabir sect on Saturday.

“It is the excesses of the police, who have registered a case against FD Bandhavgarh National Park CK Patil, without any preliminary investigation,” said Deputy Field Director of the Park Mridul Pathak, for whom sources said that he is having bitter relations with FD.

Declining the reports, he further said, “He is very cooperative and helpful in all my attempts. Somebody wants to create bitterness amongst us and take undue advantage.”

Meanwhile, it is surprising, that how a case has been registered against a FD level forest official without any preliminary investigation. Although, the district administration has ordered an inquiry into the whole issue but the there is ‘unrest’ among the forest officials and employees. A memorandum has been submitted to the Collector in this regard by the employees.

Commenting over the whole issue, SP Umaria Manohar Singh, while talking to The Pioneer, said that about 15, 000 persons were there against the forest official and it was difficult to pacify them.

When asked the pressure of a mob had bowed the police to a register against a field director level officer without any investigation, Singh said that some forest official had misbehaved with the priest of Kabir sect Paraksh Muni and even snatched his camera. “The Police has got sufficient evidence to register a case and the forest officials were biased against the sect,” he added.
