Another tiger cub found dead in Uttarakhand
Dehradun, Thursday 15th December 2011

In second such incident in less than a week, a tiger cub was found dead at Dhela range of the Jim Corbett national park, forest officials said today. The carcass of the female cub was found yesterday by a patrolling team of forest guards. Postmortem of the one-month-old cub is being conducted. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the death might have been caused due to excessive cold conditions in the area, officials said. This is the third tiger cub which has been found dead in Uttarakhand within a span of two days. On December 13, two cubs were found dead at Kilpuri range of Terai east forest division in the district. Meanwhile, honorary wildlife warden of Uttarakhand Bijendra Singh has asked the state government to take proper care of the elusive tigers in the state.
